Cylinder Piston Sealing ring

The cylinder piston Sealing ring is critical to the normal function of the cylinder. The piston Sealing ring prevents the fluid from bypassing the piston, otherwise the pressure difference at both ends of the piston will be reduced, thus reducing the force that the cylinder can carry out the work. There are two kinds of sealing elements commonly used in cylinders, one is compression sealing ring, and the other is pneumatic sealing ring.

The piston is a pressure bearing part in the cylinder block. A cylinder-piston sealing ring is arranged on the piston to prevent blow-by in the left and right cavities of the cylinder-piston. The anti-wear ring on the cylinder piston can increase the guide of the cylinder block, reduce the wear of the Cylinder Piston Seal ring and reduce the friction resistance. The width of the piston is determined by the size of the cylinder piston and the length of the required sliding section.

There are two kinds of materials commonly used for cylinder piston sealing ring. One is pure PTFE, also known as polytetrafluoroethylene, and the other is PTFE with graphite or PTFE with carbon fiber. PTFE piston ring, Guide Ring and throttle ring are new sealing materials that replace asbestos packing and cast steel piston ring. They are characterized by wear resistance, high temperature resistance, long service life and convenient maintenance and replacement.

It can be understood that in mechanical engineering, the cylinder (piston) with sliding closed head reciprocates through or against the pressure of fluid in a slightly larger cylindrical cavity (cylinder), such as in an engine or pump. A cylinder steam engine (qv) is closed by plates at both ends. The piston rod is rigidly connected to the piston and passes through one of the end cover plates through the gland and stuffing box (airtight joint).
