Most of the oil seals on the market now are nitrile rubber and fluororubber, so what is the difference between the two different materials of oil seals?
Fluorine rubber has excellent high-temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, oil resistance, corrosion resistance, and atmospheric aging resistance, as well as high chemical stability. It is currently one of the best media resistant elastomers among all elastomers.
Fluorine rubber Oil Seal, when used for engine Sealing, can work for a long time at 200 ℃ -250 ℃; When used in the Chemical Industry, it can Seal inorganic acids and organic solvents; When used in deep well oil production equipment, it can withstand harsh working conditions of 149 ℃ and 420 atmospheres; When used for sealing superheated steam, it can work for a long time in a steam medium of 160-170 ℃.
Nitrile rubber (NBR) has excellent oil resistance, high wear resistance, good heat resistance, strong adhesion, good water resistance, air tightness, and excellent bonding performance. Its disadvantages are poor low temperature resistance, poor ozone resistance, poor insulation performance, and slightly lower elasticity. So the manufactured oil seal can be used in air at 120 ℃ or oil at 150 ℃ for a long time, but it cannot achieve the expected sealing effect at high temperatures.
Nitrile rubber has become the standard elastomer for oil resistant rubber products due to its excellent oil resistance, heat resistance, and physical and mechanical properties. The main purpose of Z is to produce oil resistant rubber hoses and flame retardant conveyor belts, which account for about 50% of the total consumption, followed by sealing products. For example, O-rings, oil seals, cups, diaphragms, valves, corrugated pipes, rubber hoses, seals, foam, etc., are also used for making rubber plates and wear-resistant parts.
Although nitrile rubber has excellent physical and mechanical properties and processing properties, its performance is inferior to that of fluororubber when used in acidic gasoline and high-temperature (150 ℃) environments for a long time.
Oil seal is a common term for general seals, which simply refers to the sealing of lubricating oil. It is a mechanical component used to seal oil (oil is a common liquid substance in the transmission system), which isolates the components that need lubrication in the transmission components from the output components, so as not to let the lubricating oil leak.
